December

Wow! It’s hard to believe we are already in the month of December.  Although it is a very busy time of year, we are still doing a lot of learning in the classroom.

In ELA, we have been doing a lot of Christmas writing activities.  We wrote letters to Santa and are eagerly waiting for our response.  We are still continuing with our spelling and UFLI daily activities.  Please remember to read the home reading book sent home each week and return it every Friday.

In Math, we started a new unit on Place Value and we got to explore the base ten blocks.  We will continue with this unit after the break.

In Social Studies, we are learning about “Our Local Community”.  We are learning about leaders in our community and students are taking a closer look at themselves and the different groups they belong to within their own communities.

In Science, we are learning about “Growth and Changes in Animals”.  We will complete the unit by looking at and comparing different life cycles of animals.

In Religion, we are talking all about Advent and Christmas and preparing for the coming of Jesus.  We have also been preparing for our school mass on Tuesday, December 9th at 11:00am.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a relaxing break!
