Hello October! Fall is officially here!
In ELA, we are reviewing our alphabet, letter sounds, short and long vowel sounds. Our main goal is to make sure that everyone is able to read, sound out the letters and spell the words. We are working on our sight words as part of our morning routine. I will be giving out their sight words and reading log. Please continue to help your child study and practice these words each week.
In Math, we started our mad minutes for addition and subtraction facts 0-12. We love doing our MAd Minutes. We finished learning about patterns. We started working on learning our before, after and in between numbers. During our calendar routine, we practice reciting 0-100 numbers forward and backward. This practice helps us with our facts. We will also practice our skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to 100.
In Science, we are looking at the changes in matter.
In Social Studies we are learning about what it means to be a community. We will be looking at the different groups of people, places and services that it takes to make up a community. For example, stores, schools, post office, fire station, homes, workers, etc.
