Wow! It’s hard to believe we are already in the month of December. We have been busily preparing for the Christmas Concert and the kids are so excited to share it with their families.
Although it is a very busy
time of year, we are still doing a lot of learning in the classroom.
In ELA, we
have been doing a lot of Christmas writing activities. We did some writing about being Elves and what we would do if
we got to be one of Santa’s elves. We
wrote about a magical snowman granting a wish and if you could fly anywhere in
Santa’s sleigh where would you go.
In Math, we
started a new unit on Place Value and we got to explore the base ten
blocks. We will continue with this unit
after the break.
In Social
Studies, we just finished our unit on “Our Local Community”. Next, we will begin looking at different communities
in Canada, including Manitoba, Nunavut and Prince Edward Island.
In Science,
we are wrapping up our unit on “Growth and Changes in Animals”. We will complete the unit by looking at and
comparing different life cycles of animals.
In
Religion, we are talking all about Advent and
Christmas and preparing for the coming of Jesus.
I
hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a relaxing break!
