We are thankful.
We are grateful.
And we remember.
The month of
October and November is always the busy months at school. October is the month
when we finally get into the routine of doing things and especially with our
learning.
In the month of
October, we did neat arts for Thanksgiving. We made our thankful turkey, and we
dressed our turkey to hide it. We also celebrated the Feast of St. Gerard
Majella, the patron saint of our school.
The month of
November is another full month of learning.
We will be
learning about the importance of Remembrance in the lives of Canadians. We will
talk about why we celebrate and remember the lives of our fallen soldiers.
We are also
continuously strengthening our math skills through addition and the different
math concepts. We love doing mad minutes, which helps us strengthens our mental
math.
In Language
Arts, we are really doing better with our weekly Spelling words. We practice
how we write our sentences.
In Science, we
learn about growth and changes of animals. And we are going to do mini units
for few animals like the bee, polar bears and spider. It will include their
life cycle, the body parts and other important information.
In Social
Studies, we are learning about our community. We learned the people, things and
building we can find in our community. And we will be learning about Man-made
and Natural Resources.
In French, we
started learning about numbers in French.
In Religion, we
learned about how God loves us through his Church. We love to learn more about
our faith.
This is also the
month of Student-Led Conferences. The students are busy preparing their Learning
Portfolio’s to show their parents. 😊
Please feel free
to contact me through email or call me at school, if you have any concerns.
